Outschool Partners with Visions in Education and 13 Other Public Charter Schools in California

Outschool is the community marketplace of live online classes for K-12, offered by independent teachers.

Today we’re announcing a partnership with Visions In Education, the largest public home study program in California. The partnerships brings Outschool’s 1,000 unique online classes to Visions' 5,400 students in 9 counties. Outschool is now an approved vendor for 14 charter schools in California with more coming. Parents can work with their school's Educational Specialist to choose enrichment or core classes for the Fall, and enroll their kids at no out-of-pocket expense.

“We’re excited to partner with Outschool to bring such a large offering of enrichment activities to our families. Serving so many students across nine counties is very challenging, and we see this new approach as a way to not only broaden our curriculum but deliver it consistently across all regions.” -Tom Tafoya, Director, Business & Technology at Visions In Education

We’re honored to be able to make Outschool’s marketplace of classes available to California charter schools and are excited to build on that to work with schools across the US. Our platform allows schools to offer their students a new level of choice and personalization - Outschool classes cover a huge range of topics, schedules and levels. Students work with peers and teachers across the world meeting online in small-groups over live video chat.

Parents and teachers use Outschool in several ways:

  • Accelerate students’ learning in core subjects
  • Fill in gaps in knowledge by reviewing subjects in different ways
  • Allow students to pursue interests in topics not covered in the regular school curriculum

It is free for parents to join Outschool. We invite school teachers and administrators to browse the range of classes available this Fall. Get in touch with us at support@outschool.com to start a discussion about how we can support your school.
